During the 1920s and 1930s, the Lviv School of Mathematics transformed the city into a global epicenter of scientific inquiry, celebrated for its monumental contributions and unique spirit of partnership. The original Scottish Book, a collection of unsolved mathematical problems initiated by Stefan Banach, remains globally renowned legacy. In 2016, Taras Banach, currently President of the Lviv Mathematical Society, introduced its modern successor—the Lviv Scottish Book—which continues to draw significant attention from the international mathematical community.
